Welcome to the Entrepreneurship Learning Community

 

On behalf of the Mid Michigan Innovation Team (MMIT), the Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) and the Entrepreneurship Learning Community Champion Karen A. Bantel, Ph.D., MBA, Executive Director of the Michigan Entrepreneurship Education Network (MEEN), we would like to thank you for your participation in the collaborative strategic planning and implementation process of the MMIT Entrepreneurship Learning Community.

 

At this juncture, the Entrepreneurship Learning Community has engaged our higher education partners in four workgroups. The intent is to enhance the Entrepreneurship offerings and success of the Mid-Michigan region through collaboration, partnerships, and the joint pursuit and sharing of resources.

Youth Entrepreneurship

 

This group will address how to effectively engage K-12 students in entrepreneurship programs and activities to cultivate their interest in entrepreneurship and to expand their perspectives on potential career paths.

      Goals

  

  • To convene interested participants around a specific entrepreneurship topic area
  • Identify best practices from Michigan and national examples to discuss interests, concerns, programs, priorities
  • Develop collaborations and partnerships to develop promising regional practices

     

  • Jointly pursue funding opportunities
  • Develop strategic recommendations to the MMIT and PCF
  • Participate in the development of an action agenda to foster entrepreneurship in Mid-Michigan

 

    Process

 

  • Meet twice by phone January 2 - March 14    
  • Meeting of all groups - March 14th, 9-11:30, Genesys Conference Center (Flint)
