Career Ladder Project Overview

When it comes to career planning, for both students and adults, it’s hard to plan the trip if you don’t know where you’re going. The purpose of the Career Ladder project is to provide straightforward information about jobs in MidMichigan.

The Career Ladders show that when you start in an entry-level position, you can move up to a more advanced career level with additional work experience, training and/or education.  Besides the typical labor market data of job description, wages, employment projections and working conditions, the Career Ladders include education and training information that  lists the preferred courses that students should take, the career and technical education classes available, a list of local education and training providers, and words of wisdom from people who are working in the occupations, as well as from those who do the hiring.

The goal is to have students and job seekers become aware of the job opportunities in the area, as well as become knowledgeable of the skills needed, along with the education and training required. Students, parents, teachers and counselors have access to the four-page brochures and the three to five minute videos on this website through links to the Saginaw County Business & Education Partnership website and to the Saginaw/Midland/Bay Michigan Works! website.

We invite you to take a look for additional information on Career Ladders.
